Realme X7 Max 5G - The Six Figure Challenge

Realme X7 Max 5G – The Six Figure Challenge

The macro camera repeats the same narrative, producing blurry macro photos but ones that look colorful. The portrait mode has excellent subject separation from the background, and the blur levels, by default, don’t look artificial. With the beauty mode turned off, it retains the “manliness” of my face but still softens the skin slightly. Throwing gaming into the mix dips it faster, but you still have a phone that can hold on to its stamina when required. Though, for its successor, we’d like OnePlus to jump to an E4 panel (Samsung Display’s new material that can achieve better colors, contrast, and brightness), as some of the competitors have. Like we saw on the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max (Review), the front camera hole is very small but is unfortunately surrounded by a silver ring which can be very distracting.

The X7 Max uses the newest and very powerful Dimensity 1200 chip, which guarantees a lot of performance overhead. One of the three colors looks more interesting than the rest, and it’s called Milky Way, but it may lag behind the black and blue variants in being available at first. It’s one of the best displays in the segment, with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, vibrant AMOLED colors, and ample brightness. Talking of top-line specs, this phone has a Super AMOLED screen. For example, the display is definitely amongst the best in this segment, offering a legit AMOLED color experience, adequate levels of brightness, and an enjoyable refresh rate. In contrast, the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max both offer a 120Hz refresh rate display and come with a 108-megapixel main camera.

So overall, Pro Max is a well-designed smartphone. Please make no mistake, it is largely a derivative of the Realme X7 Pro, but despite all the alterations, it delivers a great smartphone experience. Moreover, the company announced that the upcoming MIUI 12.5 update would make matters better and also make most of the additional apps uninstallable for a much cleaner experience. Hold it, and you will welcome the 179 grams of weight that’s well balanced. That’s because the Realme X7 Max 5G is packed with top-line specs and performs well – all for a pretty good price. While the 48-megapixel primary camera is quite good in general, photo quality isn’t the main priority that went into developing this phone – that’s a key differentiator for the more expensive Mi 11X Pro.
